Jubilee Crazy
I was born in the Silver Jubilee year so cannot really remember what fuss was made about that. Those hats were special, pleased they have not been revived.

2002, the Golden Jubilee, now that was fun, our first year in London, living in Chelsea (don’t you know!) and we celebrated by watching the procession from a building site’s scaffolding and drank wine in plastic cups.

It was good in 2002 but not half as glitzy as the Diamond Jubilee is going to be.
Everyone locally is marking it: most streets are closed, big screens erected, a Vintage Jubilee Market (Colporter attending). The Flotilla for goodness sake. How cool is that?

With a week to go to our double bank holiday weekend excitement is mounting. The shop fronts have been spruced up (even our Pop Up has a new Jubilee Display). There are cake competitions in full swing. Children dressing up as Royalty for a day. Bunting bees (with wine of course) on kitchen tables up and down the country.

I am really in the mood to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee, a great way to bring people together and show the world how great we are at throwing a party before we show the world how rubbish are at winning gold medals. Ignore me, I am bitter we have not got any tickets.
Last year the double bank holiday in a week resulted in our lovely daughter Harriet. I am hoping the pomp and ceremony does not have such an effect this time. Three children is quite enough! If you want to remember the Jubilee (without having a child - a bit extreme) then here are a few Jubilee specials which tickled my fancy.
You can always trust patriotic Cath Kidston to go the whole hog. That woman deserves a damehood for services to London memorabilia.

Marmite have rebranded very cleverly. Give the Marketing Manager a bonus for this stunt. Genius.

Marks and Sparks love an occasion to release a jazzy Biccy Tin. One for the Nans this one.

Emma Bridgewater, another British Manufacturing legend and all round good egg, has launched a truly lovely line of crockery. My favourite is the Flotilla mug.

This tea towel is rather special and nicely tongue in cheek from Rock the Custard.

Queenie looks beautiful on this cushion below.
