Lantern Bore
I have bored my chums with tales of this weekend’s DIY endeavours in our house, so why not bore you lot too.

Background - My husband is a perfectionist and I am slapdash. My husband likes to use a spirit level and I trust my eyes. We have three children who tend to always need tending to at a vital “2 adults required” stage in the DIY. We have also recently spanked a lot of money on having stuff done what with our loft. We could do it, it was only two hooks.
So we decided we would go for it this weekend when the boys were playing football in the garden. It was high time to add some character to the freshly painted, minimal bare walls which we have enjoyed 4 months. I think you get a bit used to blank walls and need to bite the bullet sooner or later. Time to reacquaint ourselves with our toolbox.
A good two hours later, following: initially mild huffing; then much cursing; drilling and re-drilling the holes; more filthier cursing; abandonment of our rubbish tools; the borrowing of decent tools from one neighbour and offloading 2/3 children on the other neighbour, they were up.
Et voila.

The hooks are from Lombok and are currently reduced to £15 - bargain.

I am quite pleased with them. The lanterns were cheapo TK Maxx jobbies we have had for yonks (but I can lay my hands on some from a man I know - if you like them, email me).
Lots of places do them including Lombok again, in various sizes and designs, two diddy versions below.

The White Company have a nice Morroccan inspired one here…

Finally, I ought to credit my lovely new pal Victoria, as I have shamelessly copied her. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery they say.
